Water Name

Oulton Hall Pond

This is a very small water (less than an acre), The water has a single island towards the top and in the main this is surrounded by extensive lilies. The far side of the water is adjacent to a golf course, as such a substantial part of that bank is no fishing. There are plenty of reeds also on this far side that offer some cover. The water is at its deepest around the island at about 5 foot, but most areas have between 3 and 5 foot to go at.

There are no facilities to speak of, and the water is not suited for anglers with disabilities. The water is now looked after, and now the new owners are pulling out all the stops and cleaning and sorting out this venue to a high standard work is in progress so please bear with the new owners .There are the usual small pond stock of fish with roach and perch, with better fish to 1lb, most between 2 and 5 oz. Maggot, worm and caster is the order of the day for the smaller fish. What is worth targeting here, if you can get a quiet day is the carp. For a small pond there are some crackers up to 20lb, which don't get caught all that often. There are also a small number of tench present. There are also quite a few pike present in the water and every season the odd twenty does get caught.
