Water Name

Swanland Lake, Thorne, Doncaster.

Normally I would not big a commercial fishery up but I was most impressed by this venue. The fishery is quite a good size and circular in shape. There is a central island that is out of pole range (unless you got a 20 metre lol). There are reed beds all around the perimeter with good size platforms cut into them, thus every peg has reeds each side to fish to.

Being new to the venue I caught only spasmodically on the waggler but a change to a small feeder fished as near the island as I dared resulted in a fish a chuck for 3 hours.

My fish were Carp to 4lb, Tench to 31b and a few small Crucians, later on a good few larger Carp were caught on floating bread as I was packing up. There are also Roach, Bream etc to be caught.

Ok, down to details. The Fishery is located at Thorne. The owners are Steve and Flo Hall and the Telephone no is 01405 812986.

There is also a Flush Toilet and washing facilities which were immaculate would you believe.
