Water Name

Oak Mere Lakes - Skipwith

This is another one of those waters that is a pleasure to fish regardless of whether you have bagged up or not. There are 3 lakes in total from which to choose and each is well kept with plenty of wildlife in the peg around you. There is plenty of parking available on site, and the majority of pegs are suitable for anglers with disabilities as pegs are well constructed platforms.

It is a very well run fishery and offers good fishing in the three heavily stocked waters. There are plenty of features to fish to and the waters carry a fair bit of colour which assists with fishing the whole year through.

There are 2 general coarse lakes stocked with a good variety of fish including bream, tench, rudd, roach, perch and carp. Take a large choice of baits with you, as the fish will keep coming if you find a couple of baits that they are taking.

The third lake is a carp dominated water that is stocked with mirrors, commons and some true crucian fish. Again the order of the day is to take a selection. Other baits worth trying are sweetcorn, with a yellow hook bait amongst the strawberry flavoured loosefeed working particularly well.

Day tickets 5.00 for one rod or 6.00 for two

fishing from sunrise to sunset all year round. Barbless hooks only

From Selby, take A19 towards York for about 2 miles, then follow the signs for Market Weighton (a right turn) on to the A163 and take this road towards Skipwith and turn left, you go through the village and the waters are situated on M. G Patrick and Sons Farm on the Right Hand side. It is also sign posted with the name of the water.
