I once went on this pond and made enquiries about 3 years ago.I was told permits were only available in April for a couple of weeks from the cabin on site.It used to be for S5 residents only but I'm not sure this still stands.

hi terry, yes it is private and you have to live in sheffield 5 and 6 to be a member....great little pond, well looked after...........

i have asked this question before and result was its members only and you have to live in the immediate postcode area i believe... will have a search for you.the pond is called oxspring dam and you have to live in S5 / S6 postcode to get a book..

Ray thinned them down a bit last winter but the ones left have had chicks again and now there are as many as before

Fish ponds farm fishery brid
Went here for the first time yesterday, anyone fished here before or goes regularly. It was a lovely sheltered place but one of the more unusual places ive been to. In terms of fishing I was catching roach and skimmers before noticing some carp feeding in the margins right by my feet. I dropped in a shallow rig with meat on the hook and managed to get two mirror carp around 10lbs caught about a foot from the bank. It was very exciting watching the fish feeding near your float waiting for it to fly under.

how do you think the strhtch at Wawne will fish tomorrow after all the rain. I am empted to fish for anything, but if I can't get to bait shop I may fish an open-ended swimfeeder of SuperCrush Black and Exploding Fishmeal Feeder and then fish double 6mm Hali-Hookers on t' hook for Barbel. could use a big candle to beat the ducks to death with av ad a few carp out of rays on zigs in the past though ( usually under the bottom wires about 4ft off the bottom )

Why? is it the ducks?I did read in Anglers Mail that you can fish a candle type float with a slow sinking mixer and this will take fish and not the ducks lol

I know the difference between an Ide and a Chub mate, I know what I'm catching, and I have definately seen some chub going on past 4lb, so you can't be sure what's in there

hi all, i have fished it a few times for carp with my father (trying to get him into the pursuit of specimen fish) fished the top pond (the one full of the reeds) over the few trips i had about 12 carp biggest went 11lb, a lovely mirror in pristine condition! i fished all over the pond, in every peg i fished close to reeds on the far side, small 1oz lead, 12inch hooklink and a single grain of plastic corn on a size 10 hook (knotless knot) just a couple o tips, it may be about 18 inch deep, but there is 2 foot o silt as a bottom light leads and long hooklinks a must! and also tight baitrunners and sit on your rods when fishing tight to the reeds, i had a 6lb common that in 1 beep had ended up in the water behind the reeds! a little gentle persuasion it came out but on lighter line that would o been a tethered carp! hope this helps!wooden

ive had this argument with a few people regarding the chub debate, i fish there regulary and theres plenty of chub to around the 3lb mar, chanced are if its over 3lb it an IDE
