River Dearne 2009/2010 Season
Thanks malc and kopman,I fished the harlington stretch today, most of my fishing on the dearne is between the bridge as you come down mill lane and the bridge at pastures. In the background of the first picture you can see a very distinct white railing which you will recognize and gives you an idea of the swim i fished. Good luck for the weekend, im going to have another couple of trips down before the season ends hopefully, so still chance of my optimistic 5lb chub

Leeds United
Get in there (or is it phew !!)Good away win at Tranmere and nice to put a bit of daylight between us and third/fourth.Also nice to see the goals shared around.Only read the report on LUFC website but looks like it was a comfortable win.Lets keep it going now at Southampton.........big big game that one. Probably best team I have seen at LUFC this season (though Norwich also impressed and we got them soon - and in between is Millwall)M.O.T.

River Dearne 2009/2010 Season
nice fish there adam, which stretch is that, im planning on fishing the harlington stretch this weekend

is nelson still alive in ray fosters
basiccly i know syndicates who have being there many years and nelson is not alive when the floods happend all the leven lake and ray lake fish got mixed and theres a small ditch/beck and allot of the fish went into there and died DO NOT LISTEN TO RAY HES FULL OF BULL**** and says ohh them lads down there had 15 carp out last night when they didnt the closest me and my mates have ever got is 21lb commmon out of there and the last weighing of nelson up to date is 44lb

bait
mine would be - 10mm source boilies , halibut pellets , maggots , lobworms think that would cover most of my fishing at a push I would swap the maggots for a size 6 Ondex spinner and would have to live without big winter roach ( not that I've seen any this winter ! )

Sunday's Football
Cairney's goal was class!!! Not quite in the same league as Jonas Gutierrez's for Newcastle though!

Any ideas??? Venue fishing well???
Hi finefishingYou can give it a go down here at Lowfields for the Ide, Roach, some big perch and some better carp later in the day. Warmer days and its fishing all day. Frosty nights and afternoons best. Good mixed catches to 20lb+ on both main lake and Riverside today. Going to be warmer next few days so should be lively. Maggot and caster for silvers, corn, meat for carp.CheersMatt

chin up mate will soon be summer

claxton pond
Claxton might be worth a miss for a year or two has suffered with fish kills first by otters then a low oxygen problem, though speaking to people that have float fished it last summer the silver fish seem to be making a come back. Problem is York don't own it and can't get a long contract so are unwilling to invest much in it as theres the risk of losing a year later. Shame because its a nice pond in summer despite the mozzies.

milton pond, hoyland
we have abailiff(tempory at that). One of our members Chippy has taken on the job,his wife will cover come the match season.Anyone interested in fishing an open match on Wednesdays, as he will be setting it up,thats when the ice has gone, which seems to be hanging about as we speak.Get your dust blown of your poles lads,we are ready.

need a pick me up!!
fished toms again and blanked again!!!for sale - full set of fishing tackle!!

weeton
arrived at weeton at 7 this morning, far side covered in thin ice the rest was clear. decided not to bother fishinf it as it looked in terrible condition. some of the wooded platform pegs had collapsed, the features had all been cut away and it just generally looked like it had gone to the dogs. it may be fishing really well but i'd rather fish somewhere that is well looked after. if anyone does fish it let me know how you got on and what you think to the condition of it.

Lodge Farm - Signal
Only fished it this once so am no expert on here but what i do know is its deep. I found upto 10ft and 6ft at 6m so a gradual slope. I fished in summer as you can see above so very different tactics will now apply iam sure. For the record i fished pellet and meat both shallow and full depth and a line in the margin. Caught best at depth with meat over pellet. Came third consisting of mainly carp around the 1lb mark, but up to 3lb. The winner had 91lb with worm. Many may think i have a good memory remembering that lot but will be mistaken........my memory is so bad i have started to document it Danny

Bierley ponds, bradford.
i used to fish middle lake and had some awsome roach out but if pole use slack heavy elastic as if going for little roach its certain some carp will show and corn worked wellfor carp in middle lake

River Dearne 2009/2010 Season
Paid the Dearne another visit today, i chose to trot maggots again hoping to catch a few more species and hope the river would have dropped a little. The level had dropped but the flow was still more than it normally would be but it had slowed a little from my last visit.I decided to trot down a long glide with no visible features to fish to but within a few trots through i caught a fin perfect chubI didn't weigh the fish but it looked to weigh somewhere between 1.5lb and 2lb and then immediately another bite produced this smaller chubagain i didn't bother weighing but it looked to be getting close to the 1lb mark, again another perfect fish and great fun on float fishing gear.I'm quite surprised that i'm not getting bites off smaller fish as usually when using maggots in some of the swims i fished today i get plagued by little roach and bleak. The colour was about what id call normal for this river, maybe the flooding has affected the other species as the water didn't feel all that cold today.

Yeadon Tarn Pollution?
