New on the site this week. w/c 03-04-2006

This last week saw the introduction to the 2006 fun match series, the Brian "oldun" Potter memorial match took place on April the 1st, rather fitting for the day, because the weather fooled us. It must be a new record for YF "the most expensive match" busted poles and umbrellas, lost landing nets, but the YF magic kicked in as usual and most of us blanked, even through all that, a good time was had by all. A big thanks to the venue (Swillington) the organisers (the Mick’s and Pecker) and the Bentley Arms for feeding us, Pictures can be found here.

Mal has also put his own perspective on the event in very worthy read - Yorkshire Fishing perform Gone with the Wind at Swllington.

There’s a small update to Ackton Pond, Pontefract.

In terms of site news, we seem to be going from strength to strength, last month saw record unique visitors on both the main site (11,711) and the forum (21,337) considering the average is 4,738 and 7,447 respectively, things are on the up in a big way.

We have quite a lot of new members this week, Chris Murray, Josey Wailes, Stephen Broadley, Spencer Robinson, Lee Brealey, Daniel Hewitt, Matthew Hewick, John Alexander, welcome to you all.

We would also like to welcome the latest addition to the Mod team, after much begging, Juggla02 (George) has joined the ranks, we hope you enjoy the challenge.

Regards
The YF Team
