Swillington Park was developed as a members only fishery some fifteen years ago, but has recently opened to day ticket fishing. Set in scenic and peaceful surroundings on the outskirts of Leeds, there are five lakes, and all of these can be fished on a day ticket.

Lake one has recently been netted and restocked as a match type fishery, very well stocked with small carp and various other species. In addition to this another 500 stockies were introduced in Feb 2006. Pegs are well made hard standings and the lake has well established bankside rushes which should prove a good area to target. Pole or waggler tactics with the usual baits are likely to result in a good days sport from any of the twenty six pegs.

Lake Two is for the angler who prefers to target the more traditional species. There are some really nice tench and bream in this water, with fish in excess of eight pounds to be found, roach, rudd, skimmers and some nice perch make up the other stocks. Careful feeding is likely to be the key to success here, with a good selection of baits necessary to coax the larger fish to feed.

Lake Three along with Lake Four, is formed from a divided oxbow, once part of the course of the river Aire. This lake is stocked with a good head of small silverfish, plenty of perch and received 500 stockies in Feb 2006 to add to the resident smaller carp along with the odd larger specimen approaching eighteen pounds. There are lots of far bank features to target here, the majority being mature trees with a host of overhanging branches. Most methods should produce here, with a legered bait, tight to the far bank, likely to tempt the better fish.

Lake Four is stocked with larger carp, appox 200 double figure fish. Several fish over twenty pounds are resident here, with a recent stocking of fast growing mid-doubles certain to add to the action.
