Water Name |
Triangs Fishery, Tythe Farm, Kirton Lane, Thorne. |
Description |
There are 3 waters that are available to fish here and it is all to the credit of the owner who took over the farm over 5 years ago and has put a load of work in to transform the water into the lakes that now exist. The water is situated next to Thorne Golf Club and also the railway line, so there is always something to keep you occupied if the fish don't oblige. The newest water is Willow Pond which is becoming popular for club matches. There are pegs that are flyers due to the depths which vary from 9ft down to about 5½ft. There is also a small island that the fish congregate around during the day. Carp range from the 1lb mark to mid doubles and there are also a lot of Roach, Skimmers and Crucians which ensure year round sport. You can fish fairly light as long as you don't get a big Carp. The two other lakes hold fish of a similar nature to Willow with Heron being interlinked by a small cut. Both these waters hold a very good head of deeply coloured Tench with the stock being very well established. There are plenty of features on all the ponds with lilies and reeds to fish to. It is also rumoured that there is a single pike to over 30lb in the Heron, but it has never been caught. The third pond can be fished by Members only. |
