Water Name |
Lodge Farm Fisheries, Scrooby Top, Doncaster. |
Description |
In terms of Commercial fisheries this 5 lake complex in South Yorkshire\North Notts is very well established, with the oldest of the waters being established for over a decade. There is excellent parking with over 90% of the pegs allowing parking behind, the only places this isn't possible is when fishing down the middle of the two split ponds (Signal & Field) and the wooded side of the Top Pond. Bill has replaced nearly all the platforms over the last 2 years with large concrete platforms and many pegs are suitable for Disabled Anglers. There are still a few pegs that are desperate for the new platforms, these are mainly along the road side of the Top Pond and should hopefully be replaced in time for the 2012 Season. All the waters offer a number of features to fish to and hold some quality fish, notably Tench, Bream & Carp. Although Commercial in its nature, the water is not dominated by Carp. The water has good depths of up to 16ft and with 185 pegs there is plenty of fish and water to go round with pleasure weights of 30lb regularly reported. The best approach is a Maggot and Caster, switching to Chopped Worm on a Waggler or Pole at 9 to 11m producing the best results. If you fancy a decent Tench then double Corn fished tight to the bottom will see fish of up to 7lb coming out. |
