Water Name |
Scarborough Mere |
|
Description |
This water must be somewhere near 20 acres in size, and has plenty of pegs from which to fish. The water is run by the Mere Angling Club, who do provide day tickets. The trick to doing well on here is a trick that we all know, and that is to follow the wind. The water is well stocked, so when you find the fish, you can be well in. There are plenty of carp of most varieties (including leathers) which come out into double figures and I suspect have still got a lot of growing left in them yet. There are also plenty of tench and bream, which respond well to the open end feeder. The roach can be targeted during the colder months using light terminal tackle. There are also quite a few pike in here, which will take either large lures or dead sea baits. Colour them bright for the best results. |
