This is a very large natural water with inlet streams and outlet streams around its length. There are no facilities at all, and the make up of the banks make access for anglers with disabilities very difficult. It is open all year round and with a mixture of fish stocks, offers something for the angler all year round. Be prepared for a long walk if fishing the swims furthest away from the parking area.

There are 60 acres to have a go at and the lake averages a little over 4 foot deep in most places. The water used to be used for water skiing at one point due to the favourable depth. In terms of features there aren�t that many. There are isolated beds of lilies, and also the odd area where the depth does go down a bit deeper than the average. Apart from these obvious features, you will have to concentrate your feed in specific areas to make fish holding features. Where your tackle allows, wading out a little way can assist in making the casting distance a little shorter.

The water is well known locally for its very good nets of bream that are taken regularly. The open-ended crumb feeder fished accurately with worm and maggot as hook bait can account for 100lb plus bags. Be patient with this approach, get a good bed of groundbait down and wait for the fish to arrive. Better fish go to a little under 4 lb with lost of shoal fish to 2lb. As well as the bream you will also find plenty of perch and roach, maggot and caster being the bait to take with you target them. There are also a few wild brown trout in the water, but again these are few and far between.

Livebaiting is not allowed, with dead sea baits having the advantage over artificial lures. Fishing from Dawn until Dusk (no night fishing allowed). Open all year round.
