Burn Road Pond |
Description |
Unfortunately this water is not a day ticket fishery, but if I was a local I would definitely pay the price of a season ticket as the fishing and the surroundings are first class. There is a wide range of fish stocked with bream to 5lb, roach to 2lb but average a little over a 6oz. Tench to 4lb plus, there are a few chub to 4lb present and eels to 2lb and also a fair few perch. When the winter comes the water also produces some very nice pike over the 20lb weight. Fish will come in very close in most places, and if fishing from a platform they can be taken from under the rod tip. A lighter set up will see the most fish on the bank, but keep the loosefeed going in on a little and often basis or the fish will move on. Maggot and hemp are the going baits through the summer months with corn as a change of bait. The winter months see squats taking the majority of fish on a small hook. Sea deadbaits will take pike during the colder months. |
