Water Name |
Staddlethorpe Pond - Gilberdkye. |
Description |
Don't be fooled by this waters name. It is more of a lake than a pond. The facilities are basically non-existent and it is not suited to the disabled angler. There are over 40 pegs to fish from and they are well spread out but don't forget your trolley!!! There are 43 pegs to choose from which are platformed and most have some sort of feature to fish to. The water has good depths of up to 10 ft in places What the water does offer is the chance to catch some big chub (up to 6lb) and also ide up to 3lb. There are plenty of carp (including Ghosties) in the 3 to 5lb bracket but also some very big fish approaching the 30lb mark. Most tactics will see you catching with caster being the late evening favourite. Fairly light tackle will be fine for most fish, but if you are setting up for the carp it may be wise to ignore the smaller fish and really beef it up. The carp do come out very large every now and again, and it is always to the anglers who target them with luncheon meat and corn. There are also some nice tench that run up to 4 lb. Bream are present and run to 5lb, with perch (3lb), orfe (4 lb) and roach (1 lb) making up the other stock.
