OS Matches

Yorkshire fishing OS Matches.

Hello fellow members. Yorkshire, fishing fun matches were started a number of years ago as part of introducing members into match style fishing but without the competitive side of things IE fishing for money, They are also used so members can meet one and other rather than just reading their posts via the site also putting faces to names, The matches are run using A.C.A. match rules which can be read on the OS match thread The matches are organized by 3 of the Mods Hammy/Mghill/Pecker.

When you fish the matches there are certain rules members must abide by IE the use of foul/abusive language is not tolerated plus you are asked to conduct yourself in a proper manner as younger members are sometimes present, Any member wishing to fish the matches only need to put their name down on the OS match list when it goes up a couple of weeks before each match, Anglers of all capabilities fish our matches you do not need to be Bob Nudd to enter it is all about enjoying yourself with fellow members, It is not about who finishes 1st or last, Their are always members who are willing to give advice please do not hesitate to ask, A couple of years ago the fun matches ceased into being when the web site was changing hands it has now remerged as YORKSHIRE FISHING OS MATCHES this stands for [old style] going back to how they were, All members are most welcome to fish the matches Hope this helps to explain our matches.

New For 2009 you are now fishing for an annual Trophy

the

 "Martin Wharham/Mick Hill Trophy"

this will be awarded to the angler with the most points at the end of each

slack areas are found mainly on bends in the river, and the term slack refers to the part of the river where the current is not as strong.
