Greaves End Fishing Pond, Eastrington. 01430 410619. Situated nicely just off the M62, this water is set in lovely surroundings. There is plenty of cover from when the wind blows, it also offers good sport through the colder months of the year. Fishing is from a mixture of wooden platforms and bare banks with many of the pegs suitable for anglers with disabilities. There is ample parking and onsite toilets. There is good depth in the water with almost 9 foot in the centre. The top corner near the parking area has shallower water at 4 foot, and this can be a very good place to sit when the water starts to warm. There are 3 islands dotted about, and these can be the areas to target the carp present. The water is popular with anglers who use specimen tactics to target the carp that run to almost 25lb. Boilies and large pieces of meet will pick out the bigger fish. Bream and Tench run to 7lb and 6 lb respectively and can be caught on corn and worm from all around the lake. Roach and Rudd run to 2lb, with Perch, crucians and Ide making up the remainder of the stock. The water holds catfish that run to 25lb. Day tickets at £7.00 must be booked in advance, OAP's, accompanied under 16's and Registered disabled at £4.00 on the ban. No loosefed boilies, no keepnets, barbless hooks, minimum 4lb line, all gates to be kept closed. Open February 1 to November 30 each year. Directions - from Goole take the A614 heading north, cross the M62 towards Holme Upon Spalding Moor, pass a right turn for Portlington, pass a pub and keep right, stay on this road until you come to the pond.
