Well not the start to the new month we all wanted, deep freeze temperatures forecast along with deep snow, just when is this weather going to start behaving its self, I’m sure you all want to get out on the banks, some venues have started to defrost and refreeze so check with any venue first before setting off.
The rivers seem to be getting the attention at the moment but again what with the defrosting snow a few flood, so be very careful when fishing them, try and always make sure you are not alone at this time of year , so if you do need help it’s there for you.
A few pictures from Woodchucker just shows what we are missing when not on the rivers this time of the year
The predator section of the forum is the busy one this month, quite a few of us have swapped to the pike this winter in hope of some action, I’ve been out twice now (blanked both times lol) I did manage to get one 6 – 7lb pike near to the net but the hook pulled !!!
Other forum members have been a lot luckier than me, a great selection of pike all caught last month, they do look good in their full winter colours, cracking fish for those willing to spend some time on the bank
Another great surprise for one of our members while out on a Yorkshire river lure fishing, a 15lb 13oz Salmon, yes you read it correct a Salmon, he was fishing for pike but I’m sure you will agree we would all like this to happen, it was returned by the way, to continue its journey to its breeding grounds where ever that may be.
the image background has been changed to protect the area it was caught, please do not ask as only two anglers know where and they are keeping tight lipped.

It doesnt help that some non license holders are fishing for food ruining the numbers of fish in our rivers

Anonymous 07 Mar : 22:26
Yorkshires a big area maybe it might make more people think about getting a licence if they know these bailiffs really exist. how many times have you been checked?
BAILIFFS IN AREA 07 Mar : 20:51
fancy warning non licence holders that bailiffs are in the area ,i expect you are one of them,i expect you will be warning illegals the venue owners are here when there sat eating a fish supperby the bank side . come on let them get done or do you want to subsidise them for the rest of your fishing days
